Full Job Description

This role will report to the Senior Director of Digital Partnerships & Investments (US based) and should be in the United Kingdom. While part of this role's responsibilities will include managing our European VC partner, most of the work will be global in nature and will require interaction and collaboration with international teams., Strategy

  • Understand and track changes to the industry resulting from digital & tech trends, digitally enabled business models, macroeconomic shifts, etc.; develop a point of view on disruptive threats and breakout opportunities
  • Support evaluation of partnership, investment, and acquisition opportunities within the real estate technology space - articulate / translate the business value these opportunities could create for CBRE
  • Prepare and present verbal and written reports of ecosystem analyses and findings to inform CBRE's digital strategy, opportunistic investments, and more
  • Help develop executive perspectives or recommendations on key-competitive actions and their implications to CBRE's businesses, clients, and strategic initiatives
  • Deal Execution & Portfolio Management
  • Support efforts with business groups, corporate development, procurement, and legal to develop, structure, and negotiate partnerships, investments, and acquisitions in the real estate technology and venture capital spaces
  • Perform strategic and financial analyses on opportunities to inform deal feasibility, structure, and terms
  • Support CBRE's existing portfolio of "Proptech" partnerships through tracking and management of financial and strategic value to the enterprise- find opportunities to improve value creation from portfolio
  • Own, manage, and report on CBRE's relationship with its European VC partner

    A minimum of a bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, statistics, engineering, or related quantitative discipline
  • Experience in business operations, management consulting, corporate strategy, strategic finance, startups, VC/PE, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to articulate information concisely and precisely to various types of audiences - comfort communicating directly with executive leadership
  • Prior experience working with startups and / or an understanding of common startup and venture capital terminology - experience working with funding data to inform partnership and investment theses preferred
  • Conceptual understanding of key technologies and their ability to address business challenges or create new business opportunities
  • Familiarity with the commercial real estate industry and real estate technology, or a willingness to learn
  • Proficiency in creating complex financial models for investment analysis using Excel
  • Demonstrable understanding of financial statements, use of comparative data, and financial forecasting
  • Demonstrated command of written and oral communication and strong business writing skills
  • Mastery of commonly used business productivity software (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Office, etc.)
  • A solid team player and an independent thinker

    CBRE's Digital Partnerships & Investments team is responsible for developing and managing CBRE's strategic partnership and investment activity in the global real estate technology ecosystem, including direct investments, strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and more. In connection with the enterprise digital, data, and technology strategies, the group forms relationships with startups, venture capital and private equity funds, and established industry players to access leading innovation from the external ecosystem.
