Full Job Description

Following the retirement of the current post holder, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a 6-month secondment to the role of Associate Director of Quality Assurance at Whittington Health NHS Trust.
The Associate Director of Quality Assurance is band 8C and a full-time role based at the Whittington Hospital site. The post holder is responsible for the delivery and leadership of integrated governance, quality and patient experience across the Trust.
We are inviting expressions of interest from candidates with strong leadership and a knowledge of integrated governance and quality, including patient safety, (PSIRF), clinical effectiveness, regulatory and compliance systems, maintaining effective communication with regulators, including the CQC and quality improvement. Candidates should be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of improving patient safety, integrated governance systems and an understanding of the CQC and other regulatory systems.
The post holder will be expected to provide assurance that appropriate systems, processes and relationships are in place to ensure high quality and are effective and maintained.

The post holder will be line managed by the Deputy Chief Nurse, The post holder will develop appropriate systems, processes and relationships to ensure high quality, safe and effective services are operational and effective and l e a d o n the strategic development of integrated governance and quality improvement, whilst offering a high level of professional and operational support across the Trust.
The post holder will take the organisational lead in developing, constantly reviewing and implementing the Trust's risk management and its risk management strategy including incident reporting, serious incident reporting, duty of candor and compliance as well as Regulatory business processes and other risk and regulatory corporate policies to ensure appropriate risk and regulatory management arrangements are in place and are regularly reviewed and updated.
They will also take the organisational lead in delivering the Trust's quality improvement strategy in conjunction with the clinical lead for quality improvement

Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key external stakeholders including the Care Quality Commission, commissioners and colleagues across the health and social care economy, demonstrating political awareness with the ability to effectively discern the most appropriate communication.
Communicate using a varied range of techniques and methods to effectively work with and influence a range of stakeholders both within the Trust and external stakeholders.
Ensure that the principles of robust integrated governance are embedded and operational within all corporate, departments and ICSUs.
Liaise closely with executive and ICSU leadership teams in the implementation of quality governance, patient safety and risk management and assurance systems including effective planning cycles to improve safety and quality across the Trust.
Responsible for the management of the budgets within the overall quality governance team
Responsible for overall management of the quality governance team, personally reflecting the values and behaviours and leading by example.
Ensure effective planning and cover arrangements exist to maintain operational resilience within the team and maintain effective governance for the Trust.
Directly line-manage the leads for patient experience, patient safety, quality improvement and clinical effectiveness.
Provide high quality leadership and role modelling to the quality governance team. Ensure provision of effective and timely expert, high quality support and guidance
