Full Job Description

Working pattern: Term Time + 5 weeks, 0800 - 1600 This is a great opportunity for an individual with relevant experience to join the friendly front office team at this popular boys' school in the heart of Guildford. The Attendance Officer is responsible for managing and monitoring student attendance, ensuring accurate record-keeping and collaborating with parents/guardians, school staff, and external agencies on attendance matters. You will have at least six months' experience of school registration, excellent communication skills and a positive attitude. Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and record student attendance accurately in the school database.
  • Liaise with form teachers to follow up on all unexplained absence.
  • Log daily notifications from parents/guardians regarding student absences.
  • Ensure all absence processes are followed correctly and efficiently.
  • Generate and analyse attendance reports and statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Help ensure the school fulfils its duty of care for pupils by reporting and following up on absence in a timely manner.
  • Maintain effective communication to support students with attendance issues.
  • In return you will receive:
  • Circa £28K per annum pro rata (circa £25K actual)
  • Term time working (plus five weeks)
