Barnsley College is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced automotive professional to join our Engineering department as a Motor Vehicle Workshop Instructor on a variable hours contract. This role will see you working closely with students of all ages, from young people at the start of their careers to adults looking to upskill or transition into the automotive industry. As a Motor Vehicle Workshop Instructor, you will deliver hands-on, practical training designed to equip learners with the skills they need for success in the automotive sector. Your role will be key to their development, providing instruction in a workshop environment, supporting practical learning, and assessing their progress. You will also play a vital part in maintaining a safe and inspiring learning space that encourages growth and confidence. This is a pivotal time for our automotive department, as we continue to expand our offer to include Levels 1, 2, and 3 courses. We are ambitious about growing these qualifications to meet the future needs of the automotive industry. Joining us now means becoming part of an exciting journey where you can make a tangible difference., In addition to instructing students, you may assist with workshop setup and organisation and provide cover for colleagues when required. You will work closely with the teaching team, using your expertise to inspire students and help them achieve their career aspirations.
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual with extensive experience in the automotive industry and a commitment to nurturing talent. Your primary focus will be delivering practical competence-based training, but you will also contribute to the wider learner experience by preparing materials, supporting individual learning plans, and fostering a positive, collaborative environment.,
- Relevant Level 3 Motor Vehicle qualification
- Level 4 teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards)
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent Level 2 qualification) Preferred
- Relevant industry experiences working within an automotive industry
