Full Job Description

This role is one of several new positions weve created to enhance our Data and Insight Service. As an Azure Data Engineer at the Council, you will work with a variety of high-value datasets. You will modernise the councils dataflows, collaborating with data management and engineering colleagues. Your work will involve innovation and deploying robust practices, including data pipelines and warehouse structures. This role will directly contribute to improving health, social, and economic outcomes across Kirklees and support statutory outputs. You will lead database design, development, maintenance, and management, utilizing modern data engineering standards to seek out opportunities for efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation. Additionally, you will identify and deploy effective testing regimes and ensure timely resolutions. Documenting and communicating your work and knowledge with colleagues will be crucial in supporting the service, council, and partnership objectives. This is an exciting time to join us as we build the Councils data engineering and development practice.
