Full Job Description

To support the Fire Safety Manager in establishing and leading a 'fire safety management system' across the Organisation and building key working relationships internally and externally.

Responsible for ensuring the organisation meets is statutory obligations in respect of fire safety and advising committees of the effects of new or amended legislation and on the effectiveness of compliance.

To manage, organise, implement, co-ordinate and maintain full efficient fire prevention and fire precautions and the training of staff in all premises managed by the Trust.

Responsible for implementing and undertaking fire training for all Trust Staff in the premises managed by the Trust and maintaining an up to date database recording all training undertaken.

To provide expert advice and guidance to managers and staff at all levels of the organisation, identifying fire safety priorities and assisting in overall prioritisation within the Trust's Fire Safety Capital programme.

Together with the Fire Safety Manager to carry out inspections and audits against current fir legislation and fire practices across the Trust. Responsible for providing accurate fire risk assessments and action plans. Procedure comprehensive reports for communicating to all levels within the Trust including Executive Committees and Trust Board external organisations.

To deputise the Fire Manager as required., Deputy Fire Safety Manager Based across all our sites. University Hospital Lewisham, Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Community sites Main duties of the job To ensure the Trust is compliant with the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005 RRO and Fire code HTM-05-01 Managing Healthcare Fire Safety Responsible for the delivery of fire safety training To undertake fire risk assessments To act in support of the FS manager Advise the FS manager of issues Review and development of fire safety related policies, procedures and practices, Deliver FS improvements To ensure fire safety incidents are investigated and followed up appropriately To assist in the co-ordination and preparation of fire safety audits. Managers and staff to plan, simulate fire evacuations To maintain the Trust's risk register with regard to Fire Safety Risks. To ensure records are maintained for: Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Safety Audits Fire Accident, Arson, Incident Reports
