Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the unique research programmes which really make a difference to the health and lives of people in Bradford. The post will primarily focus on two key projects within the programme BiB: BiB Age of Wonder and Born in Bradford's Better Start (BiBBS) and other BIHR research projects., The post holder will be responsible for appropriate specimen labelling, centrifugation, aliquotting, storage and shipping. Strong team working skills are required for this role and although full training will be given, previous laboratory experience is required.

We are looking for an organised, motivated and enthusiastic Biomedical Support Worker to take a key role in the handling, preparation and processing of biological samples collected for high profile cohort studies within the Born in Bradford (BiB) and other research studies at Bradford Institute for Health Research (BIHR)., You will have experience of working in the biomedical laboratory and be familiar with the use of laboratory equipment, computer systems, databases etc. Previous experience of working with biological specimens is essential. You will be organised and able to work under your own initiative to meet tight deadlines as well as having an approachable and friendly manner.
