We have been awarded the Princess Royal Training Award 2025 and have over 360 Apprentices across the business. #futureoflabcorp We have opportunities in our Dose Formulation department at our site in Harrogate, North Yorkshire! Within this role, you will work in the dose formulations preparation lab being involved in the preparation of test substances for dosing in liquid and dietary form and capsule formulations. You will also have responsibilities working in the receipt technician team performing inventory/archiving tasks. Main responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of test item in liquid, diet blends and capsule formulations if required in accordance with study paperwork and SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Weighing / measuring of test items within a GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) environment.
  • Performing any combination of receipt, inventory and/or archive tasks, including labelling, receipt, transferring, tracking, inventory, archival, shipping, and disposal of samples and/or materials.
  • Maintaining storage units
  • Using tracking systems as appropriate and communicating effectively with internal and external customers
  • Adhering to work schedules as appropriate.
  • Performing quality control reviews of study raw data prior to issue from Dose Formulations.
  • All the above will be performed with minimal supervision on satisfactory completion of training.
  • Training is on the job, with a dedicated training program offering both one on one sessions and larger groups in order to develop key manual and scientific skills. Our aim during the 2-year programme is to produce confident competent scientific technicians with the core skills to allow them to develop a career within the company. We then offer the option to progress to both a Level 5 or Level 6 Degree qualification or beyond to a Masters Qualification. What you'll receive:
  • You'll undertake a Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship over the course of 24 months.
  • If you already hold an A Level (or equivalent) in a scientific subject, you will also study for a Level 4 HNC in Applied Science.

  • What are we looking for:
  • An A-level in Biology or Chemistry is preferred but not essential. Relevant work Experience or a level 3 science-based qualification is also beneficial.
