Full Job Description

  • Being a building custodian, responsible for the safe maintenance of c90 company property assets, maintaining the asset to ensure it is safe, legal, and protected whilst liaising with internal teams and external agencies such as EHO, Environment Agency, Fire Officers, Planning Building Control.
  • Being accountable for the management and control of the area revenue and capital budgets (c£5m) to ensure delivery to budget and best value is achieved.
  • Responsible for all building maintenance data accuracy and completeness across all internal systems.
  • Utilising your strong interpersonal skills, alongside your uncompromising attitude to Health and Safety, to deliver successful cost, quality, and programme management.
  • Respond pro-actively to maintenance problems and manage the relationship of key suppliers and internal key stakeholders., About Company: You'll struggle to find any company with a more diverse portfolio of properties than ours. The team also head up construction providing everything from round the clock reactive maintenance to refurbishment and major conversions. Other property roles are varied; helping our restaurants and pubs with rent reviews, lease renewals, business rates and energy and environment management.

    Are you a Chartered Building Surveyor with proven experience in Building and Facilities? If so, we have a great opportunity for you. (This role is known internally as Area Building Manager) Joining a well-established internal team of building professionals, you will be aligned to a geographic portfolio of our pubs and restaurants, undertaking the responsibility for the delivery of all building surveying and maintenance, operational standards projects, and statutory inspection services focusing on regulation, cost management, data management and delivery. Our much-loved pubs and restaurants stretch across the UK and the geographical patch aligned to this opportunity covers Essex and some of East Anglia. You will need to reside within the areas mentioned and have a driving license, as it's vital for you to be mobile and flexible, in order to reach your sites on both a regular and re-active basis., Solid and proven experience delivering in a building surveying role
  • Strong ability to build and maintain successful working relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent or competing demands
  • Experience working in a large multi-layered organisation, highly desirable
  • Knowledge of operating in the Retail and Licensed field, highly desirable
  • Chartered CIOB, CABE or RICS professional, highly desirable
