Full Job Description

Responsible for acquiring & developing new OEM customers within the Food Processing, Packaging and Transport whilst building relationships with key stakeholders. Involving wide-ranging consultation on engineering & engineering polymers, with support from Nylacast's internal Engineering & Technical Department. Main Duties of the Business Development Manager: Sector Management: Identifying new business opportunities, including new markets, new clients, new partnerships or new products & services:

  • Building relationships with new clients, gauging their needs and developing proposals to address these needs
  • Find and develop a deep understanding of customer needs to be awarded new opportunities to create growth (new applications/new technology/ new geographic locations)
  • Develop, manage and maintain the sales / business plan for the given customers with focus on:
  • Developing strategic relationships with targeted clients with proactive communication
  • Negotiate contracts and supply agreements
  • Keep abreast of market conditions: including economic trends, technological advancement, market share of customers / potential customer (worldwide). Taking these factors into consideration for the management and implementation of the sales / business plan
  • Keeps up to date with competitors activity
  • Sales Performance & Management:
  • Develop long term business relationships targeted OEMs
  • Continuously and proactively research new supply opportunities
  • Follow-up customer enquiries & leads in a professional & timely manner
  • Make outgoing sales calls where and when required (face to face, phone& teams)
  • Prepare and make presentations to customers
  • Demonstrate and explain products & services to customer representatives, such as engineers, and other industry professionals
  • Consult with clients on engineering polymer selection and engineering solutions
  • Provide technical services to clients relating to use, operation, and maintenance of equipment
  • Ability to analyse drawings, specifications, proposals & other documentation
  • Meet sales targets / performance measures
  • Ensure that all customers are serviced to the highest standard possible
  • Document & maintain all customer / client databases / files in an accurate and orderly fashion
  • Compiling of key reports
  • Key Performance Indicators · Monthly sales targets · Weekly report submission · Weekly KPI's, Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 5:00pm with a daily 60-minute lunch break - Flexibility as business needs dictate

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in an associated engineering discipline or +5years experience within the manufacturing industry is essential
  • +5 years commercial experience within a comparable business environment
  • +5 years of relevant field sales or engineering experience within polymeric application/solution supply
  • +5 years industry exposure & experience with supporting OEMs & Distributors, within industries such as, Food Processing, Packaging, Transport, Rail, Pharmaceutical
  • Technical Engineering sales experience & proven sales track record and commercial capability
  • Excellent understanding of the routes to market with End Users and Tier 1 and 2 suppliers
  • Self-motivated, driven with Excellent time management skills and determined with a high level of business understanding
  • Highly organised and able to work within a fast paced sales environment
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with people of all levels to build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
