Full Job Description

My client is a rapidly growing technology/SaaS organisation offering a unique portfolio of services to the construction sector across the UK and internationally. There is a clear roadmap for future business transformation, which would lead to a trebling their size over the next 2-3 years as the products and services are commercialised at pace. The Business Development Manager, a crucial appointment in realising this ambition, is an exciting opportunity to help them increase profitability and ultimately unlock the potential of their market proposition across their 3 key business revenue streams. Role and Responsibilities:

  • Research, engage and close commercial deals in the construction market.
  • Compiling sales plans.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities at all stages of the sales cycle to promote low risk and predictable performance.
  • Accurate and dependable forecasting that the business can rely on to support its development plans.
  • Be fully conversant with the product portfolio to the point where you can answer the majority of non-technical customer or prospect queries.
  • Acquaint yourself with the company's sales cycle.
  • Ensuring that the CRM is kept up to date on a real time basis.
  • Provide critical analysis of lost and closed business.
  • Engage with and support the marketing, customer success, and product teams

    5+ years of sales experience, with experience of having sold Tech into the Construction sector.
  • Demonstratable experience of managing the full sales cycle.
  • Passion for technology, high level of technical understanding of IT tools. Note that the role does not require software development or in-depth technical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to develop and maintain cordial professional relationships internally and externally.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team and able to use your own initiative.
  • Proven ability to manage a pipeline and work towards a sales target.
  • The role is remote-based, although you will be required to travel to their Bristol HQ circa once per month.
