Full Job Description

  • Ensure that the category is always striving for a market leading range
  • Establish credible relationships with suppliers to ensure the best cost, best supply and best delivery for our customers
  • Be aware of the marketplace activity and innovations, and using this information to ensure that the category is performing
  • Work collaboratively with the merchandising team to ensure all metrics are hit across sales and stock
  • Contribute to projects within the Commercial team and the wider Currys Group
  • Responsible for the management and development of an Assistant Buyer direct report

    Experience at Buyer / Junior Buyer level with extensive knowledge & experience of supplier negotiation & supplier relationship management
  • Good judgment and strong decision-making skills to enable the right actions for the category
  • Good commercial awareness and appreciation of customer needs
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel

Ideally, you'll be able to evidence building a plan that maximises sales and margin within the budgets and financial guiderails set. You'll also support development of your team and be a critical part of helping ensure this is a great place to work.
