Full Job Description
- The Certification team are responsible for the delivery of product certification and conformity testing to global engine performance and emissions regulation standards.
- The team applies deep technical knowledge to regulation compliant test execution, ongoing performance & emissions conformity monitoring, generating regulation compliant test reports and test data to ensure that our product portfolio meets international emissions standards.
- This is a highly visible team that works directly with all areas of engineering and will, at times, report out directly to our product groups.
- Working closely with the Performance Systems Integration engineering team and Emissions & Power Systems Regulatory Compliance team to deliver engine emissions certification & conformity testing to the highest standards to all engine emissions regulations.
- Working with the GED Test operations and Facilities Emissions teams to ensure quality data is achieved. What You Will Do
- Plan, schedule & execute engine performance & emissions testing across all Caterpillar Medium Engines products.
- Conduct and/or direct engine performance and emissions tests, checking data quality, test result integrity and regulation compliance.
- Write requirements, procedures, and reports and formally present on test outcomes.
- Plan, manage and deliver tests to tight time scales and to right quality.
- Collaborate with global team to drive global alignment and best practices
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Engineering curriculum - Combustion engine and aftertreatment calibration testing experience
- Engine performance and emissions certification test experience
- Knowledge of engine emissions regulations testing requirements
- Knowledge and experience of various data systems including, but not limited to, CANape, Gryphon Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. Level Working Knowledge :

- Uses flow charts, Pareto charts, fish diagrams, etc. to disclose meaningful data patterns.

Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. - Organizes potential problem solvers and leads problem resolution efforts.
- Uses varying problem-solving approaches and techniques as appropriate.

- Develops successful resolutions to critical or wide-impact problems. Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges. Level Working Knowledge:
- Provides effective technical solutions to routine functional challenges via sound technical competence, effectively examining implications of events and issues.
