Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the MSNAP accredited multi-professional community memory team in Barnsley as a Clinical Psychologist at B7. The team specialises in providing assessment and interventions to those who are experiencing memory difficulties associated with dementia., The post-holder will be expected to provide neuropsychological assessment to support dementia diagnosis, post-diagnostic support and interventions, and psychologically informed guidance for family members and paid carers of people with dementia. This varied role gives opportunity for working across the whole span of dementia experiences including assessment, post-diagnostic support, and systemic interventions for behaviour that challenges. The post-holder will work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team and alongside the existing full time Clinical Psychologist in the team., The Memory Service is based at Summer Lane in Wombwell with free parking and several bookable clinic rooms. The Service is MSNAP accredited and can offer flexible hours and hybrid working if desired.

There are opportunities for supervising and to offer placements to Trainee Clinical Psychologists and the service maintains close links with the Psychology Department at the University of Sheffield. The successful applicants will be joining a supportive network of older adult psychologists across the Trust who meet regularly for peer support, and to share good practice and resources.

This is a great opportunity either for a candidate with existing or transferable skills or someone looking to develop expertise around psychological support in dementia, systemic working, and neuropsychological assessment.
