Full Job Description

Caring for the health and wellbeing of our people is one of the key themes of our people strategy and a priority for the Trust. We are proud of the comprehensive, preventative and responsive health and wellbeing programme offered to staff which focuses on 6 pillars of wellbeing including psychological wellbeing.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Psychologist Lead for Staff Psychological Health and Wellbeing Services at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust to cover maternity leave.
The post holder will lead the development, delivery and evaluation of a high quality, evidence based effective staff Psychological Service within the Workforce and Education Directorate., You will work closely with senior staff, the wellbeing team and other key multi-disciplinary teams that are pivotal in fostering and embedding a culture of wellbeing, in which our diverse workforce feel supported and well at work., Our people are our greatest asset. When we feel supported and happy at work, this positivity reaches those very people we are here for, the patients. Engaged employees perform at their best and our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) initiatives contribute to cultivate a culture of engagement. We have four staff networks, a corporate EDI Team and a suite of programmes and events which aim to insert the 5 aspirations:
1. Improving representation at senior levels of staff with disabilities, from black, Asian, and ethnic minorities background, identify as LGBTQ+ and women, through improved recruitment and leadership development
2. Widening access (anchor institution) and employability
3. Improving the experience of staff with disability
4. Improving the EDI literacy and confidence of trust staff through training and development
5. Making equalities mainstream, Caring for the health and wellbeing of all our people is one of the key themes of our People Strategy. The need for a coherent offer that addresses physical, financial, emotional and psychological wellbeing needs is of even greater importance in light of the pandemic and the impact it has had on colleagues in the last few months and the expectation of on-going impact for next 18 - 24 months.
Research evidence from previous pandemics (e.g. SARS) (e.g. Ricci-Cabello et al, 2020) suggests that up to about 50% of the LGT workforce is likely to experience significant psychological distress over the coming year and beyond. There is a need to both promote and normalise the message that 'it is ok to not be ok', thus destigmatising the importance of self-care and seeking psychological support.
Research also suggests that improved psychological well-being in staff leads to improved staff retention (Wright and Cropanzo, 2004) and safer, more compassionate services (Francis, 2013).
