Full Job Description

We are recruiting for a Clinical Radiology Department Assistant (RDA) who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. The post is based at the Lister Hospital and will include a rotation to all sites within the Trust (except Mount Vernon). Each day can be different, and this is an ideal opportunity for a caring and enthusiastic person to enter the healthcare service. All mandatory training will be provided and there will be opportunities to broaden your skills through in-house training. Annual performance review/appraisals are undertaken to enable you to progress your personal development within the department. You will be working with minimal supervision and must be able to adapt your working practices as the post requires. You will be required to work some evenings and weekend shifts. The departments house state of the art CT scanners, 2 3T and a 1.5T MR scanners, 16 ultrasound rooms, fluoroscopy, dexa, nuclear medicine, angiography and general radiology units. We encourage you to embrace these values throughout the recruitment process and in your role with us., To prepare treatment areas at the beginning of clinical imaging sessions and to prepare equipment relevant to the examination being undertaken. To support radiographic staff in a range of diagnostic procedures and examinations. Patients may present with conditions that may include the unconscious, uncooperative, incompetent or may have mental and physical disabilities. To assist in special investigations and intervention procedures. To perform patient monitoring and have a working knowledge of specialised equipment. To explain examination procedures to the patient and give reassurance. To act as chaperone when required. To assist consultant radiologists during specialised procedures which involve preparation of sterile trolleys using aseptic techniques, specimen slide preparation and accurate completion of documentation.
