Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Haemophilia Centre at Royal Free Hospital site for a Clinical Research Fellow post for a period of 12 months in the first instance. There are opportunities for extension and registration of clinical PhD with UCL at the end of 6 months. For candidates' considering registering for clinical PhD, potential topics include women and bleeding disorders, Splanchnic vein thrombosis or Haemophilia and Joint disease.

The KD Haemophilia and Thrombosis Centre is a comprehensive care centre and with an international reputation in inherited bleeding disorders. In addition the thrombosis service provides thrombolysis service for deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and abdominal vein thrombosis.

The centre is very active in Clinical Trials running phase I to phase IV clinical trials. The centre has strong emphasis on training clinician scientists at the forefront of its research strategy, to ensure that research is at the vanguard of its clinical activities.

The post is full-time with working hours between Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00 and would be suitable for Haematology trainees at ST5+ level who wishes to gain experience in Haemostasis and thrombosis including clinical research. There is scope for participation in a 1:9 rota and the activities and assessments are as provided in the updated curriculum for haematology training, published by Joint Royal College of Physicians Training Board.
