An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Band 7 Team Manager for the York and Scarborough perinatal mental health team .

The team aims to meet the needs of the local population who present with complex perinatal mental health needs. The team provide assessment and intervention for people who have mild through to severe and enduring mental health needs. We also work alongside community services within the area.

We are looking to appoint an existing team manager or from experienced practitioners looking to expand their professional development in operational team management. You will be also joining an established peer group of perinatal mental health leadership across the 2 teams in NY&Y.

Applicants must ensure that prior to applying they have agreement from their current line manager that they can be released on a secondment basis., The successful candidate with the support of their leadership team will improve the lives of people with mental ill health through effective leadership, management and service development to enable the delivery of excellent services to promote recovery and well-being for all service users.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering excellent mental health services and can support and enable the team to achieve their potential. Key responsibilities will include supervision and appraisal for the team, performance including key performance indicators, recruitment and management of staff, ensuring that people have timely access to our services and receive treatment in line with our pathways. You will need to have excellent relationship building and engagement skills and be capable of managing varied work demands based on the changing needs of the service. You will understand and embrace the challenge of delivering a service which is both high in quality, efficiency and sustainability.

Although the main duties of the role are to ensure the operational effectiveness of the team, you will still have the opportunity to involve yourself in direct clinical work, in line with the needs of the service.
