Are you a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) with ambitions to develop your career?
Have you used/or are familiar with OT assessments such as the Model of Human Occupation Screening Tool (MOHOST) or other outcome measures.
Are you interested in holistic approaches within the Mental Health Sector?
An opportunity has arisen to join the Great Yarmouth Community Therapy Service which provides an OT led therapy service that is communityoriented for people aged 25 and over who are experiencing mental health problems.
The team provides a Monday - Friday service and offers a programme of foundation, focused and community-based group activities both outdoor and from community hubs. As well as, outreach and one to one assessments and interventions for service users under the care of a Secondary Care Adult Community Mental Health Services. Groups include OT led, psychologically and therapeutically informed work and Recovery Focused Community groups. The groups focus on community integration or re-integration as a part of a person's wishes in their recovery., The team currently has a fixed term vacancy for 3 months and is looking for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our busy team of OT's, an Arts Psychotherapist, a Peer Support Worker and OT Assistant Practitioners. You will need to be passionate and enthusiastic about OT and Community Mental Health with an interest in quality improvement for the person., Here at the Great Yarmouth Community Therapy Service, we are looking for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to cover for three months. We are currently on a journey to improvement, and this is an exciting opportunity to join us in delivering the best possible care for our local community.
You will need to be enthusiastic, conscientious and do everything you can to provide patient centred care. You will work to ensure that the service is delivered safely and effectively and people using it get the support they need in a timely, recovery focused manner. You will be compassionate, empathetic and sensitive in your approach to people who may be distressed or have a challenging manner.
For newly qualified staff we offer a Trust wide preceptorship programme.Within this role you will need to be able to work independently and travel around the local area independently. You will be involved in all aspects of the OT pathway from assessment to intervention to discharge, working autonomously to provide a range of interventions both on a 1:1 basis and in group work. Within the role you will work closely with the wider Waveney Community Mental Health Team to support with assessment of OT needs and to provide advice and guidance where required.
Our primary focus is on collaborative working; placing great emphasis on the assessment/recovery focused model of care. Many aspects relating to service user Recovery is reflected within the assessment tools used, such as MOHOST, Dialog+/Safety Planning, and the Trust's philosophy that underpins patient centred care.
