Full Job Description

This advertisement is for a new post within the department of gastroenterology at the NNUH. We are looking to attract a high-quality GI Consultant with a subspecialist interest in Hepatobiliary Medicine who undertakes EUS and ERCP. A candidate who is unable for personal reasons to undertake the duties of a whole-time post will receive equal consideration., The hepatology team offer a wide range of subspecialist clinics dedicated to: hepatobiliary cancer, viral hepatitis, PSC, autoimmune liver disease, alcohol and NAFLD. This is in addition to specialist liver transplantation clinics and a range of general liver clinics. They also provide specialist ERCP, Spyglass and Endoscopic Ultrasound services. The latter in conjunction with the Radiology department. There are two dedicated Hepatobiliary specialists' nurses who support the HPB ward and outpatient cases. The team has excellent working relationships with the Cambridge Liver Unit and works closely with our colleagues there in the management of patient's pre and post liver transplantation. We are part of the regional HCV network providing DAA drugs to patients with HCV infection according to operational managed network. We also provide an autoimmune liver disease MDT with our network partners.

The trust will be commemorating 250 years of a hospital in Norwich in 2021.
  • Cromer and District Hospital is located in Cromer on the North Norfolk coast and serves the North Norfolk population. It was redeveloped in 2012 to replace the 1930s-founded hospital. We provide a wide range of consultant-led outpatient services, day case operations and a Minor Injuries Unit (MIU). The trust is commemorating 150 years of a hospital in Cromer in 2017/18.
