This is to replace a colleague with long term sickness and you will join a team of 8 WTE Nephrologists

The team deliver a high quality and comprehensive renal service to a population of 1.0 million, with the main unit located at Hull Royal Infirmary. The nephrologists supervise a 19 bed acute renal inpatient ward which has 4 dialysis stations as well as a 4 station acute dialysis bay for the provision of acute dialysis. The Inpatient renal service consists of 2 teams; one provides care to the acute renal ward and the other an Outreach services providing support to the rest of the hospital with provision of OP clinics at Hull, Bridlington, Grimsby and Scunthorpe. You will also undertake new and follow patient clinics and will share management of dialysis units/clinics.

The main haemodialysis unit is state of the art and has 40 stations. There are 3 recently refurbished satellite haemodialysis units at Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Bridlington. Within the units there are currently 382 patients having haemodialysis treatment. There is an active home therapies programme, with 18 home haemodialysis patients and 60 peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients of which 5 undergo assisted PD. The PD programme is based at the Hull Royal Infirmary, with dedicated PD staff. Transplant work up is carried out at HUTH with renal transplantation being performed at St James Hospital, Leeds., This post attracts 11 programmed activities per week.
