Full Job Description

The Members’ Security Support Service (MSSS) is responsible for delivering a range of security services and measures to Members of both houses of Parliament and the staff that support them.
This role represents an excellent opportunity for a high-performing security professional to deliver security solutions, in collaboration with our chosen contractor, that will enhance MP’s security and overall safety.
You will be responsible for working with Members and their teams, contractors and other PSD staff to deliver technical and physical security measures; understanding and advising on appropriate measures will be key to the role. You will have a strong practical knowledge of protective security, with an emphasis on physical and technical measures and be prepared to keep up to date with emerging technology and security developments., + Analysing the technical and physical security survey specifications to ensure they meet security standards and are in line with best practice, whilst ensuring that they represent value for money and adhere to internal policy considerations.
+ Provide strong communication and engagement with MPs and MP’s staff on surveys, specifications, and proposed installations. Be an integral part of delivering outstanding service.
+ Work directly with contractors - occasionally visit sites across the UK to design-out issues and develop bespoke protective security measures; conduct occasional post-installation visits to check compliance and quality.
+ Review proposed installation costings provided by contractor(s) to ensure accurate invoicing and consistency, in line with guidance and pricing matrix.
+ Hold contract providers to account for timely communication, appointments, and installations, ensuring that they meet the KPIs and deliver customer focussed solutions.

+ Experience and knowledge - Experience of working in a security-related discipline, allied with a knowledge of domestic and commercial physical and technical security installations. Proven experience of understanding security vulnerabilities and recommending proportionate mitigations.

+ Contract Management - Able to hold contractors to account for providing the right, cost-effective security solutions, challenging when appropriate and helping the contractor to deliver in a timely, customer-focussed way.
