Full Job Description

Cook and Serve Supervisor Permanent Grade 2 £24,027 - £25,992 pro rata for term time only & part time hours. Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review, We are a Living Wage Employer, and all our roles will be paid as such where the pay scales are below the Living Wage rate. Working 35 hours per week term time only: Monday - Friday Approx. 7.30am to 3pm plus 3 days in the school holiday for cleaning & training. Christ The King Catholic Primary School, Warren Farm Road, Kingstanding, Birmingham, B44 0QN Cityserve is the Birmingham City Council multi award-winning catering service for school meals providing fresh and nutritious food for school kitchens across the UK. Healthy eating is a continuous theme throughout all our menus, and we are committed to the well-being of pupils. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy environment, delivers excellent customer service and can motivate and support team members. As a Cook Serve Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • delivery of daily staff briefings;
  • management of all food & non-food orders via an online computer system
  • preparing, cooking & serving all meals for pupils;
  • ensuring all food and health and safety regulations are followed;
  • managing rotas and work routines for the staff;
  • weekly/monthly online payroll submissions;
  • staff training;
  • management of attendance;
  • managing employees breach of Birmingham City Council's Code of Conduct. Essential Criteria: Experience in cooking on a large scale
  • you will work collaboratively with school staff to ensure the first-class delivery of food in school kitchens

    sound knowledge of nutritional standards in school food;
  • good people skills;
  • passion about food and customer service;
  • great team player;
  • good verbal and written communication skills;
  • computer literate;
