Full Job Description

Citi is looking to hire a corporate bond trader within the Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa (CEEMEA) Emerging market credit group. The successful candidate will be responsible for the CEEMEA corporate credit flow in London. By joining this desk, you will be responsible for overseeing risk on the CEEMEA corporate trading book, ensuring this is managed within all applicable limits. You will work in conjunction with the global trading team to deliver on revenue and franchise goals, and with key stakeholders to continue the growth of the Credit business in London. You will deploy best practice on pricing and risk management in a fashion that positively influences other traders and markets peers, contributing to a positive culture. Furthermore, you are ultimately responsible for the risks incurred managing the flow business at the entity level, both in market and operational risk. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced trader who is looking to take ownership of a franchise book and drive the business forward with the support of their peers across the markets business. What you will do will be varied day to day, but the key drivers for the role are:

  • Generate revenues to achieve targets whilst considering market and franchise conditions.
  • Build and maintain a franchise and connect with key clients in a fashion that fits with desk's strategy and target clients.
  • Work with key stakeholders to improve the operational efficiency of the business, developing robust and market leading systems.
  • Bring develop and retain junior talent to ensure desk is adequately staffed.
  • Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance.
  • Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics.
  • Interact with regulators and ensure firm complies with post Brexit regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate proper consideration for the firm's reputation.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to Citi's Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services
  • Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe.
  • What we will need from you:
  • This is not an entry level role, so the successful candidate will need to be already managing risk and have in depth knowledge of respective products and clients.
  • Buyside or sell side experience from risk taking standpoint.
  • We require extensive working knowledge of the CEEMEA corporate credit space with particular focus on Turkish corps/fins, African HY bonds and CEE/CIS corporate names.
  • We would want a ready built out franchise so you can 'plug and play' into our business and add to our flow franchise immediately.
  • Experience of working closely with Sales, Research, and other organizations across Markets to provide market liquidity and help build the Citi franchise through the monetisation of client flows.
  • Good communication skills and effective interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • A strong understanding of Bloomberg, booking systems, trading protocol, closing technicalities.
