Full Job Description

Cleveland Police are currently seeking an experienced Supervisor to become an integral part of the Criminal Justice Unit, based at Middlesbrough Police HQ.

The successful candidate will support the Head of the Criminal Justice Unit with the day-to-day operational supervision of the department, to ensure a quality service is delivered in line with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

Amongst other duties you will:

Contribute to the setting, monitoring and assessment of team/individual key performance indicators in alignment with wider objectives, taking corrective action as necessary to ensure that the team effectively contribute towards the achievement of Force goals and partnership priorities

Support and lead a team of Police Staff within the Criminal Justice Unit ensuring they receive appropriate supervision and informed appraisals that deliver continuous personal and professional development and training

· To interpret relevant legislation, home office guidelines and introduce changes to working practices

· Be the decision maker when dealing with incoming correspondence from partners, victims and members of the public

· Adopt a proactive and innovative approach to continuous service improvement

Excellent decision making and communication skills alongside a comprehensive knowledge of systems such as PNC and Niche is essential. We have excellent working relationships with police colleagues and partner agencies and it is vital our new Supervisor is able to maintain and develop these relations.

The successful candidate will be required to collate performance data and run reports in response to FOI requests, therefore great attention to detail and accurate data input is a requirement.

We are a busy team and there is often change, so you must be able to prioritise tasks and work to demanding timescales.
