Full Job Description

As the Criticality Safety Assessor you responsibilities will included.

Undertaking criticality assessment, and associated activities, interfacing with engineering, project management, project controls and document management functions;

Act in any criticality or equivalent role;

Support the Safety Case Manager;

Support wider EUP safety case and engineering leads when requested;

Assist the Head of Profession in capability development and establishment and implementation of resource strategies, recruitment plans and competence;

Advise Amentum and Client leadership, engineering, programme and project management, and clients (intelligent Customer), on regulatory compliance, standards and guidance;

Interfaces as necessary with suppliers;

Supports the client in interactions with Regulators and safety committees.

Ideally hold a Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education);

UK and International standards and practices, e.g. American Nuclear Society and ONR Technical Assessment Guides;

Nuclear criticality safety assessment and HAZAN production;

Experience of relevant code (MONK, MCNP etc.) application in a wide range of operations and fault scenarios;

Knowledge of a range of nuclear hazard identification and analytical tools;

Ability to gain and retain Security Clearance and willingness to obtain Developed Vetting;

Ability to travel for several days at a time in the UK and occasional overseas travel;

Good oral and written communication skills, including presentation and report writing;

Good MS applications, organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work.

Desirable:

Knowledge of UK nuclear site licensing, safety assessment principles, regulatory guidance on safety assessment and nuclear Site Licence Conditions;

Experience in two or more UK Nuclear Site Licensee Organisations;

Knowledge of Regulatory permissioning/flexible permissioning;

Experience of safety case in civil reactors and defence sector;

Experience of international nuclear safety assessment;

Project management and project controls;

Stakeholder management;

Ability to mentor and coach.

Position will require ability to gain and retain Security Clearance and willingness to obtain Developed Vetting.
