Full Job Description

The Data Governance Manager will sit within Markets DGO and be responsible for supporting the delivery of a broad roadmap of data management and analysis outcomes, aligned to the overall Markets data strategy. This specific role will be focussed on administering data governance across the London Stock Exchange and FX trading venues. The individual will be responsible for:

  • As Data Manager responsible for implementation of data best practices across Markets DGO including:-
  • + LSE PLC + FX
  • Designing and implementing data quality controls that meet data governance standards.
  • Managing Markets Data analysts focussed on data governance of Capital Markets deliverables including:-
  • Improving the quality of data through the analysis, de-duplication; consolidation and enhancement of data, following newly documented data quality standards.
  • Identifying and capturing critical data elements in LSEG's central data catalogue.
  • Identifying and capturing the metadata associated with the critical data elements.
  • Identifying and documenting a business data glossary, consolidating and standardising data definitions.
  • Analysing and assigning the requisite data classifications to the critical data elements.
  • Mapping data policy standards to regulatory requirements, to ensure all regulatory data obligations are met.
  • Supporting the Data Owner and Data Steward community with data tooling expertise.
  • Collating and analysing KPIs and other data related benchmarks to measure and track the maturity of the (h) Capital Markets data landscape.
  • Facilitating the data governance maturity assessment process.
  • Maintaining the data issues and risks database, escalating priority data issues to the CDO.
  • Supporting the businesses in the remediation of critical data issues, reducing operational incidents related to poor data quality and controls.
  • Assisting with the Identification and capture of core business reports in the report catalogue, including consolidation and simplification of report universe.
  • Performing data privacy support across Capital Markets
  • Undertaking project management responsibilities including:-
  • + Planning and status tracking of data governance deliverables + Issues and risk reporting + Education of the data governance squad + Team management of the data governance squad + Communication updates across the Markets division

  • Good understanding of data management principles and best practices.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent data analysis skills and experience in data remediation approaches; (Advanced SQL; Python)
  • Experience in Microsoft Purview useful.
  • Experience in and knowledge of financial services regulatory framework and policy is beneficial.
  • Open to and willingly adopts new processes / approaches / ways of working.
  • Proactively identifies ways to improve products and/or services and procedures resulting in increased revenues, product/procedure improvements and/or cost reduction.

  • Experience working within large financial organisations on the data requirements.
  • Experience working in diverse, geographically dispersed financial institutions.
  • Strong presence and gravitas with the ability to establish oneself.
