Full Job Description

Citi is seeking a strong business-minded data & analytics leader to both create and execute against a data agenda that will accelerate business outcomes for our Custody business. This Data Leader will interface with multiple business stakeholders to ensure Custody business alignment with Services and enterprise initiatives and work efforts, whilst influencing policy and standards changes to ensure it accounts for Custody specific requirements. This role will pave the path for how data & analytics can be used to accelerate outcomes and is an exciting opportunity for an experience data leader to not only partner to deliver tangible data outcomes within Custody, but also serve as a key evangelist in helping Citi become a data-native organization through the deployment and commercialization of data products and analytics. You will act as the central point of contact, accountable for orchestrating Data Governance adherence within the Custody business, including driving the effective implementation of the Citi Data Governance Policy (CDGP) and the associated obligations. As Citi pivots to sustained growth across all its business lines, there is a recognition that a key enabler is the ability to better harness data, analytics, and insights, both within individual business units, but also across business lines to create incremental value, both internally and externally Team/Role Overview: The Custody Global Product team focuses on developing custody products for the Custody business lines, both hub & domestic, providing settlement, custody, and asset servicing solutions to investor clients through a global network of sub custodians. What you'll do:

  • Engage and coordinate with key stakeholders, SMEs, Data Owners, Data Stewards, Technology Owners, and Data Leads to drive the execution of data controls and strategic data priorities.
  • Build the Custody business case for the data programs through collaboration with internal business leaders and liaising with key stakeholders to communicate the data strategy and progress.
  • Create simple documentation, playbooks and run training sessions to drive tool adoption, enabling product teams to self-serve for their data & analytics needs, as well as ensuring all data has a dictionary and lineage.
  • Own data accuracy, data timeliness, and data completeness for all custody data feeds as well as KPI's on Custody data accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
  • Partner with Security Services Data team and technology to continuously assess and improve platforms and manage data latency, enable data sharing / data exchanges with external clients.
  • Drive the creation of a data & analytics roadmap, with appropriate prioritization; track progress / measure results. This will require you to gather the data & analytics needs from functional / product teams and execute on the data vision for custody data - on premises and cloud. You will also be tasked with tracking return on investments (ROI).
  • Explore new high-impact custody analytics, leveraging emerging technologies to drive business growth and strategy, whilst continually "bringing the outside in" to learn and deploy best practices from other organizations or industry forums.

    This role is heavily data driven, so the successful applicant would need to have a deep understanding and experience around data usage, the modelling of data and how its successful application can be used to drive strategy.
  • An individual who can understand a business need and translate this into analytical execution, through supervision and review on analysis, with a critical eye.
  • An individual who has experience of "translating" between business owners and data teams and can confidently interface with technology to scale solutions internally and for external clients.
  • Experience of product innovation and can prioritize appropriately through impact management and business understanding.
  • Passionate about data, detail and execution orientated and can move from theoretical to practical application, making decisions that will deliver rapid business impact.
  • Superior communication skills, with an ability articulate complex ideas through a variety of communication methods, across a multitude of seniority.
  • Given the visibility of this role, you will need to easy to influence outcomes without necessarily direct authority from experience gained in navigating large complex organizations to achieve results.
