Full Job Description

The post holder will lead a programme of initiatives across the service line to deliver service and process improvements. The post holder will have delegated general management responsibility for a defined area or areas, with particular focus within the Gastroenterology, Endoscopy, Renal & Hepatology service areas

The post holder will assist the management team with other key performance areas, such as working with clinicians to achieve the process changes needed to achieve the 18 week referral to treatment target, DM01, Cancer etc. ensuring that the Division meets the requirements of the Trust's efficiency programme and working closely with staff across the Division to ensure that it meets the NHSLA assessment standards., The post holder will need to establish immediate credibility within the organisation and be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships at operational and senior management levels.

- The post requires a high level of direct communication and complex negotiation with Clinical Leads and a broad range of departments' senior managers across the Trust.

- The post holder will promote the consistent and effective use of management tools and methodologies through their own work across the Division and with stakeholders across the Trust.

- The post holder must be able to effectively interpret and understand complex data and information to inform decision making processes.

- The post holder will have a key role in maximising the quality and effectiveness of the use of resources within specific departments of the Division, through the implementation of service and process improvement initiative

The Gastroenterology, Endoscopy Renal and Hepatology service line has 2 Renal Wards based at Gloucester Royal Hospital, one of which also accommodates a Dialysis unit run by Diaverum. We have a further 3 Dialysis units (2 on Gloucester Royal Hospital Site and 1 in the Forest of Dean, also run in close partnership with our provider Diaverum. We have 2 Endoscopy Units based on the Cheltenham and Gloucester Acute sites as well as providing services in Stroud and Cirencester, along with other Gastroenterology and Hepatology services run both on site and across the county.

The Gastroenterology, Endoscopy, Renal and Hepatology service line teams are tight knit and work together well in providing excellent services to our patients.
