Full Job Description

The Director of Industry and Engagement plays a crucial role in building and maintaining relationships between the UoH London campus and external industry partners. This strategic role is key in establishing industry links which enable the campus to build an industry-focussed learning experience in London which will prepare international students for the world of work and arm them with key experience, knowledge and contacts for their future careers.,

  • Work closely with the Campus leadership team to achieve the aspirational targets for student outcomes and satisfaction and other commercial and contractual KPIs
  • Contribute to strategic development of the partnership, including courses and progression routes of pathway programmes to maximise recruitment opportunities and keep offering current.
  • Design, develop and implement the Engagement and Employability strategy, evaluating its effectiveness and identifying areas for continuous improvement.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential industry and commercial partners to support course delivery and employability initiatives.
  • Attend and actively contribute to relevant partnership Boards and committees and work with university colleagues through approved liaison points.
  • Actively lead the employability team, motivating them to deliver the best possible student outcomes and student experience.
  • Ensure all persons employed are suitably qualified, trained, honest and experienced and carry out their duties in a professional manner in line with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the allocation of resources, ensuring that employment activities are planned and delivered within an agreed budget and meet operational margins.
  • Provide effective performance management of direct reports, including: setting personal objectives and KPIs; regularly reviewing performance of direct reports; and conducting formal performance reviews according to Study Group policy and procedures.
  • Facilitate, encourage and support all staff to participate in regular continuous professional development activity.
  • Lead the planning, management and delivery of all industry and employability programmes and activities that facilitate student internships and job placements
  • Coordinate industry-related events such as career fairs, guest lectures, and workshops.
  • Liaise with academic teams on opportunities to embed employability in the curriculum
  • Protect and promote the name and reputation of Study Group and the UoH, acting in an ambassador role and participating in any recruitment or other beneficial activities as required.
  • Be accountable for key performance indicators related to employability and engagement areas, monitoring data and impact
  • Ensure currentness of programmes with relevant external agencies' quality frameworks, policies, procedures and codes of practice.
  • Have due regard to the Prevent duty and relevant policy when organising external speakers
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key industry and commercial contacts to support delivery at the UoH London campus
  • Manage communication and outreach efforts to maintain strong industry relationships.
  • Develop marketing strategies to promote university programs to industry partners.
  • Work closely with faculty, career services, and alumni relations at the UoH's main campus to enhance student experiential learning opportunities.
  • Serve as a liaison between the university and industry partners to align academic programs with industry needs.
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with Student Recruitment, Marketing and Admissions to ensure that the Campus grows, develops and remains an attractive proposition for international students and relevant stakeholders.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Head of School.

    Masters degree desirable
  • Track record of successful industry engagement
  • Experience working in an international environment desirable
  • Experience of working in the HE sector desirable
  • Experience of leading innovation and facilitating change
  • Experience of developing strategy and marketing plans
  • Experience of partnership working or partnership management in the education sector
