Full Job Description

The Director of Technical Services at LCH Ltd is accountable for leading, managing, and developing the technical services operation within the LSEG Markets Trade Technology Division in London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG). Reporting to the CTO, LCH Ltd, the role focuses on managing high critical clearing systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, driving SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) and DevOps transformations, and developing a cloud roadmap to enhance reliability.,

  • Management of LCH LTD production operations
  • + Oversee the technical support teams responsible for high critical business functions and IT services delivery. + Ensure the reliability, performance, and resilience of the clearing systems.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • + Ensure all systems and processes comply with relevant regulatory obligations. + Work closely with compliance teams to stay updated on regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Service Excellence and Continuous Improvement:
  • + Focus on delivering high-quality services to meet business needs. + Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • + Lead, manage, and mentor a cross-functional team of technical professionals. + Develop team capabilities through training, onboarding, and continuous skill development.
  • Process Optimization:
  • + Assure adherence to support processes and standards, working with management to update and enhance these as needed. + Develop and design application services support strategies to enhance efficiency and resilience.
  • Risk Management:
  • + Identify and manage operational risks, ensuring support teams effectively triage, escalate, and resolve issues. + Optimize support processes in a metric-driven way to improve service delivery.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • + Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including Business, Technical Services, Development and offshore teams. + Regularly report on KPIs, SLAs, and other performance metrics to stakeholders.
  • Technology Integration
  • + Implement and utilize the latest technologies to support service delivery and process automation. + Stay abreast of industry trends and incorporate best practices.
  • Incident and Problem Management:
  • + Strengthen incident and problem management processes, ensuring timely resolution and knowledge sharing. + Monitor team performance against SLAs and KPIs, driving necessary changes for continuous improvement.
  • SRE and DevOps Transformation:
  • + Drive the adoption and implementation of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to improve system reliability and scalability. + Lead DevOps transformation initiatives to streamline development and operations processes. + Promote a culture of collaboration between development and operations teams to enhance productivity and service delivery.
  • Cloud Roadmap Development:
  • + Develop and implement a strategic cloud roadmap to support the organization's transition to cloud-based solutions. + Evaluate and select appropriate cloud technologies to meet business needs and regulatory requirements. + Ensure a smooth migration of applications and services to the cloud, minimizing downtime and disruptions.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or a combination of related experience and education. Having a MSc /MBA would be an added advantage.
  • More than 15 years of experience in Application Management & Development/ IT Support/ Service Management function. Preferably in financial services.
  • Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of how application support integrates within the overall technology function to achieve objectives; requires a good understanding of the industry.
  • Experience in planning and transforming several large scale and complex application management operations, preferably in a regional and multinational setup at a leadership level.
  • Proven experience of implementing best practices and methodologies such as service management (e.g. ITIL), DevOps etc.
  • Proven experience of building, leading, managing, mentoring, motivating and coaching a cross- functional technology teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills at all levels of an organisation.
  • Exposure to a wide variety of technologies, Windows, Linux, Cloud services.
  • Proficient in MIS and reporting tools.
  • ITIL qualifications in service operations desirable.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to combine outstanding problem-resolution and critical thinking skills, with a collaborative approach to solving business problems.
