Full Job Description

The post of Disability Co-ordinator requires working with disabled students to identify needs, recommend and implement reasonable adjustments. The post also includes raising awareness of disability and supporting disabled students as well as exploring the implementation of inclusive practice. The post holder should

have good knowledge around the Equality Act 2010, particularly in the area of disability

have knowledge and experience recommending and implementing reasonable adjustments

have good communication and negotiation skills

have a compassionate approach to support

have the ability to work collaboratively to reach positive outcomes for students

have knowledge of developments around disabled student support within higher education

The position we are filling is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and a satisfactory DBS disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service is required as part of our clearance procedures.
