Full Job Description

This is a new role within the Test, Trials and Evaluation (TT&E) team, a part of the wider Warhead Delivery Team. The TT&E programme exists to deliver requisite TT&E capabilities at the right place and right time to ensure that in-service and replacement warhead programmes can be manufactured, certified and transported to the required standards and timescales. One of the largest programmes within the TT&E sub-portfolio is the Teutates Programme, which is responsible for delivering a set of experimental capabilities. The full Teutates capability includes the establishment, under a UK-France Treaty, of a major facility (the EPURE 3 axis Hydrodynamics Facility) located at CEA Valduc near Dijon in France, as well as facilities at AWE Aldermaston. The programme also covers procurement of specialist containment vessels, radioactive and hazardous waste treatment capabilities and facilities involving both MoD and AWE teams in UK and France. The total programme 10-year budget responsibility is
several hundred £M.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Teutates Capability Manager in working across both DNO and AWE colleagues (AWE as the deliverer) to enable effective planning and coordination of the programme. The programme has high complexity because of its international dimension and the breadth of dependencies across the DNO, which this role will need to understand and manage.

The successful candidate will also support the wider DNO Warhead Test, Trials and Evaluation (TT&E) sub-portfolio. The TT&E Team's role within DNO is to act as the focal point for all TT&E activities within the WHD group. This includes identifying, capturing, collating, and triaging TT&E requirements from across the DNO.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments.

The Teutates and Test, Trials and Evaluation teams are based at AWE (Aldermaston). This post will require regular travel to London and occasional travel to France. Flexible and condensed working patterns can be considered for this post but due to security constraints the role is not suitable for hybrid working. Attendance in the AWE (Aldermaston) or London office is expected for 3-4 days a week. Candidates are encouraged to discuss options with the recruiting line manager before submitting an application.
