Full Job Description

Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland's first Nuclear Power station. Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively. Amentum are looking for Electrical Engineers who will be based within the HPC site engineering office (JDO, Joint Design Office) located on HPC site. The main focus being on supporting the construction of the two EPR by answering to requests coming from building and erection contractors on Electrical discipline. Key responsibilities will be:

  • Answering to site requests on electrical scope by: Gathering all needed input data, producing an assessment based on these data and formalizing it in a form, performing calculation when requested (support calculation, plate calculation, cable calculation, etc), ensuring that all the impacts of site activities on the design are well identified and managed (Design Changes, Open Points, Redlines, etc)
  • Reporting to Electrical Discipline Manager and attending team meetings
  • Contributing to the closure of design open points after the delivery of Electrical design packages to site
  • Anticipating and raising alerts on open technical points
  • Collecting and organizing the lessons learnt
  • Being part of JDO-DT Electrical team, participating to Team meetings, sharing technical topics
  • Hold a relevant Engineer grade in electrical or experienced in electrical design
  • Cable sizing, equipment installation (Switchboards, Tranformers)
  • Design of Electrical network
  • Earthing and protections
  • Ideally have nuclear experience and Naviswork
