Full Job Description

Are you an experienced Electrician looking to transition into education, or an established Electrical Installation Trainer seeking to advance your career at an outstanding college? We offer a structured induction programme designed for industry professionals with no prior teaching experience, as well as ongoing mentorship to support your success in the role. For experienced Trainers/Assessors, we ensure a smooth transition into our college environment and provide continuous professional development. Join our growing apprenticeship delivery team as an Electrical Installation Trainer, where you will manage a caseload of apprentices, guiding and tracking their progression in knowledge, skills, and behaviours throughout their apprenticeship journey. This hands-on role involves delivering practical, workshop-based learning for apprentices working towards the Level 3 Installation and Maintenance Electrician standard, along with conducting workplace assessments. You will also ensure that assessments and feedback are submitted on the Aptem e-portfolio system, offering ongoing support to prepare learners for their End Point Assessment (EPA). As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to actively contribute to the ongoing review and development of the curriculum, introducing new ideas and innovative approaches to enhance teaching and learning. We strive to make learning engaging and enjoyable, ensuring apprentices receive the support they need to succeed and achieve exceptional results. Help us transform the lives of our students by joining our expanding team and making a difference to the future of our budding industry specialists.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to be an experienced professional with a strong background in Electrical Installations and a commitment to supporting learners throughout their apprenticeship journey. You'll be able to manage a caseload of apprentices, guiding them with regular progress monitoring, workplace assessments, and the development of employer relationships through tripartite reviews. A key part of the role involves preparing learners for their End Point Assessment (EPA) by providing constructive feedback, planning and delivering lessons, and ensuring compliance with awarding body standards. You should be familiar with apprenticeship programmes and e portfolio systems like Aptem for tracking learner progress. A proactive, flexible approach is essential, as well as excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a passion for developing the next generation of industry specialists. Self-motivation, independence, and a willingness to continually improve and embrace new teaching methods will be key to your success in this role. Required
