Electrician

We are seeking an experienced person to join our on-site engineering team as an Electrician, reporting to the Electrical Estates Officer, who will be an active member of the Estates team responsible for carrying out and supervising the safe installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of the Trust's plant, equipment and buildings., Knowledge, Training & Experience - The post holder will be responsible for carrying out the safe installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of the Trust's plant, equipment and buildings and this role will require training and experience in commercial electrical building services supporting large, complex systems such as power and lighting, fire alarms, nurse call, ventilation and air conditioning, passenger lifts, generators, etc. and ideally you will have an understanding and experience of HV equipment and switchgear., 1. The post holder will be required to work under pressure in emergency situations where the failure to act promptly or safely may result in serious injury, damage or loss of life. Previous NHS experience is not essential although would be useful, and full supplementary training will be provided., You will require a well-developed understanding of a range of work procedures and practices, the majority of which are non-routine, and which require intermediate level theoretical knowledge acquired through formal training to NVQ 3, or equivalent, with at least 3 years of relevant working experience.

As well as the full range of duties associated with the post holder's core skills, i.e., installation, reactive and preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, carry out repairs, modifications, calibration, etc., the role often requires specialisation and a multi skilled approach with team members having responsibilities in nominated specialist Estates roles, such as Competent Person for Water, Ventilation, Work At Height, Confined Space, Pressure Systems, or Medical Gases.
