Full Job Description

The Skills and Employment Team are looking to recruit an experienced, motivated and passionate individual to join a well established employment support team to help support residents into employment. Referrals for the team will be made from Primary Care settings and local partners and the work will involve 121 engagement, vocational profiling and action planning to help prepare and progress people into work.

The successful candidate will join a well-established team with a proven track record of delivering it's aims. The Skills and Employment Team is a large and diverse team who work predominantly with unemployed residents, supporting people to gain qualifications and move into or maintain employment, to enable success in work and life.

Job Detail

This programme is funded by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) as part of the Individual Placement and Support in Primary Care (IPSPC) service. The role will involve delivering a holistic employment support service alongside health partners that supports and enables people to stay in or take up work. The successful applicant will deliver high quality employment support based on an Individual Placement and Support model.

Key elements of the support you will provide will include Vocational Profiling and identifying individual support interventions required which will inform action planning, outlining choices for the future in relation to participation in short, medium- and long-term outcomes for employment. This will include support with CV writing, job search, application forms and interviews. You will deliver high quality and impartial Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to ensure that your customers are able to make informed decisions and are prepared for the next step in their lives. The intensive support model also enables ongoing 'in work' support to increase chances of stability and sustainable employment, particularly for those who are already in work.

We are looking for skilled, proactive and flexible individuals who will really make a difference to residents' employment needs and support them to progress in their lives. You will offer 1-2-1 support to adults both face to face and over Microsoft Teams.

No candidate will meet every single desired requirement. If your experience looks a little different from what we've identified and you think you can bring value to the role, we'd love to hear from you!

This is a fixed term position initially as part of a wider employment support provision funded through DWP. There may be future funding/other provision available in the future.
