Full Job Description
As an Engineering Lecturer, you will teach a variety of courses, ranging from Level 1 to Level 5, to full-time and part-time learners aged 16 to 18 and adult students. Combining practical and theoretical teaching, you will deliver contextualised learning that meets the needs of our diverse learners and aligns with awarding body requirements. As an Engineering Lecturer, you will deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that combine both practical and theoretical elements, using innovative teaching methods to inspire learners. You will design comprehensive schemes of work, lesson plans, and teaching materials, ensuring they meet the diverse needs of students and align with curriculum goals. A key part of your role involves supporting learners academically and pastorally, helping them achieve their full potential. You will assess their work, provide constructive feedback, and verify or certify achievements as needed. You will work collaboratively with the Course Leader and teaching team to review, plan, and develop an effective curriculum that reflects industry trends and best practices. Through the use of effective assessment strategies, you will monitor learner progress, maintain accurate records, and produce reports to support continuous improvement. To succeed in this role, you will stay up to date with developments in the engineering sector and undertake professional development as required. By fostering a positive learning environment and contributing to strategies that enhance retention, attendance, and achievement, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the success of learners and the wider department
We are looking for a passionate and skilled individual with expertise in a range of engineering disciplines, including CAD (Computer-Aided Design), manufacturing processes, engineering science, electrical and electronic principles, electronics, mechanical engineering, and project management. You will have a strong foundation in both theoretical concepts and practical applications, with the ability to teach students from Level 1 to Level 5. Your knowledge of manufacturing techniques, electrical systems, and mechanical design will enable you to deliver engaging lessons that inspire learners. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs, providing clear instruction while incorporating practical insights from industry. Your experience in developing and supervising engineering projects will help foster problem-solving skills and innovation among students. Proficiency in modern engineering tools and techniques is essential, as is a passion for mentoring aspiring engineers and preparing them for success in the field. You will play a key role in bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world engineering practice, inspiring students to achieve their full potential. - Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards PGCE if not already Level 5)
- Level 5 in Engineering (or equivalent)
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent Level 2)
