Full Job Description

Deliver teaching and learning across a range of qualification types, ensuring stretch, challenge, and engagement of learners.
Plan and prepare lessons and contribute to all relevant teaching documentation including schemes of work, lesson plans, online resources, etc.
Mark learners work, providing meaningful feedback on how improvements can be made.
Maintain accurate records and monitor learner attendance and progress, planning additional support when required.
Fully engage with the quality assurance processes within the curriculum area.
Attend team meetings and communicate with colleagues, sharing good practice within the curriculum area and the wider college when required.
Represent the college at parent evenings, taster days, open days, careers, and other educational events.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of subject specialism by engaging with appropriate professional development.

English Teacher (GCSE Language and Literature), As our English Teacher, you will be an outstanding classroom practitioner; teaching, motivating and supporting young people to maximise their potential to make progress.

The post holder will teach GCSE English Language and Literature to ages 14-16 within the 14+ provision., What we're looking for in our English Teacher:

Level 3/4 qualification in relevant subject
Written and verbal communication skills
Cert. Ed/ PGCE or willingness to work towards
Demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.

Able to work with students of all ages in classroom, workshop and one to one situation, including students from Hull College School

Working Hours: 35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Salary: £24,878 - £38,309 FTE

Annual Leave: 42 days per annum (excluding bank holidays and up to 3 additional discretionary days over the Christmas/New Year period)
