Full Job Description

As a CBRE ESG Reporting Program, Associate Director, you will be part of a team responsible for developing and executing ESG reporting program and overseeing and managing CBRE's ESG reporting initiatives. This role will report directly to the ESG Controller and is responsible for developing and implementing ESG reporting strategies, and enhancing CBRE's transparency and accountability in ESG matters. The ESG Reporting Program Associate Director will also be responsible for assisting with the coordination of jurisdictional ESG report fillings and external audits engagements. What You'll Do:

  • Manage and execute ESG reporting program components, including developing comprehensive project plans. Define ESG reporting program project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Track project milestones, budget and deliverables.
  • Develop and implement CBRE's ESG reporting strategy in alignment with corporate goals and regulatory requirements. Stay updated on global ESG reporting standards and best practices.
  • Lead the annual double materiality assessment process and identify and prioritize key ESG metrics and indicators for reporting.
  • Serve as liaison between the global ESG Controllership team and local jurisdictional controllership and ESG/sustainability teams to coordinate jurisdictional ESG fillings and external audit engagements.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback on ESG reporting. Respond to inquiries from investors, regulators, and other stakeholders regarding ESG performance.
  • Serve as liaison between the global ESG Controllership team and Risk and Compliance function to ensure compliance with ESG-related regulations and standards.
  • Support the design and operating effectiveness of ESG internal controls and related processes to comply with regulatory frameworks.
  • Develop solid working relationships with internal and external auditors and provide requested information and respond timely to requests.
  • Implement research, development and preparation of ESG related policy and procedures. Maintain awareness of industry-wide best practices and developments in ESG and appropriately provide leadership on internal changes as necessary.
  • Provide regular status reporting to direct manager and assist with the development of communications to executive management.
  • Assist with various projects as needed.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence parties of shared interests to reach an agreement.
  • Apply knowledge of own discipline and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues which may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes.

    Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience with ESG and/or financial reporting processes, in a large global company or similar experience with global accounting/consulting firms.
  • Thorough understanding of ESG reporting frameworks, reporting standards, and industry trends is required.
  • Proven experience in managing complex reporting programs and projects with diverse stakeholders is required.
  • In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, and handle problems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Ability to understand and explain complex issues or concepts to others within the organization.
  • Ability to manage priorities and critical deadlines with minimal direction.
  • Self-motivated and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization to collect information and drive resolution.
  • Must be detail-oriented, have a proactive approach and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, ability to facilitate meetings with multiple audience types.
  • Proven analytical skills and insights development.
  • Professional accounting certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), sustainability related certification, project management certification or equivalent preferred.
