Full Job Description

The Faculty of Medicine and Health would like to recruit a new Faculty Digital Education Academic Lead (FDEAL). This role is for existing members of academic staff (teaching and scholarship or teaching and research) to contribute to leadership and development of our education programmes in the Faculty.
It is an exciting time to become the FDEAL as we reflect on how we can use digital technologies to support our faculty expansion plans related to the National Health and Social Care workforce agenda, and enhance the quality of student learning and the overall student experience. We are also developing fully online programmes in partnership with other faculties, and online CPD provision targeting both local and global learners.
The Faculty DEAL will work with the Faculty Deputy Dean SE and Pro-Dean SE, student education leadership in the four schools in the faculty, including school level digital education leads, and the Faculty Digital Education Enhancement Team to support the implementation and realisation of our digital education priorities. The Faculty DEAL will also work closely in a team with the DEALs from other faculties to support the University's Digital Transformation strategy, in partnership with professional colleagues in the Digital Education Service.
The role in the Faculty of Medicine and Health is open to academic members of staff employed within the Faculty. The appointment is on a 0.2 FTE basis and requires the agreement of the relevant Head of School/Institute. The successful candidate will be bought out on their existing grade and salary level.
