Full Job Description

Successful candidates will have the unique opportunity to work within a Primary care setting, managing patients at the beginning of the MSK pathway and embedding the FCP role within your allocated Primary care practices, whilst also remaining fully integrated with our wider MSK service.
You will be welcomed into our diverse group of FCP's who work across York and the wider area. We organise weekly Clinical Governance sessions and provide ongoing clinical and personal support. Our Clinical Governance sessions are fully interactive with regular Complex Case Discussions, Critical Appraisal Club, Peer Supervision, Live Supervision, Radiology MDT and varied IST sessions.
We work in partnership with various local PCN's within multiple areas including, South Hambleton and Ryedale, Tadcaster, Selby and York. We currently have vacancy in Selby Town but if you would like to discuss future opportunities in other areas, please contact the recruiting manager.
Successful candidates will already be working in a Specialist MSK Physiotherapist role, at either Band 6 or Band 7 level or above, with a motivation towards providing patient centred clinical care and education at the very start of our MSK pathways.
We look forward to receiving your application!, As part of the FCP team you will be responsible for delivering this innovative model of care within Primary Care.
As a First Contact Practitioner working in the Primary Care Network, you will be the first point of contact for GP surgery patients and MSK patients will be streamed by GP reception staff to the FCP clinic directly.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide frontline expert screening, assessment and diagnosis of Musculoskeletal conditions to ensure patients are supported to self-manage or receive support from the most appropriate clinical pathway.
You will be expected to assess, investigate if indicated and manage patients with musculoskeletal problems diverting to the Community MSK service as needed. You will be required to become fully integrated within your Primary Care Network (PCN) and work as a key member of the Primary Care Team.
Training and governance will be provided weekly within the MSK Service. This will ensure a supportive environment for all team members to flourish, enable clinical supervision and provide comprehensive opportunities for further development.
There will be opportunity to complete a PGCert in MSK practice which will provide accreditation aligned with the HEE FCP roadmap.
