Full Job Description

  • Operating as part of a team currently with 3 senior FX Strategists based in different locations as part of UBS IB Macro Research
  • Identifying and investigating global macroeconomic and political trends for G10 currency markets with the aim of generating actionable trade ideas
  • Producing written content, often operating independently, in a variety of formats including cross-asset publications
  • Regular interaction with sales and trading, for example through participating in morning calls and answering ad-hoc requests
  • High level of client exposure, especially among institutions such as hedge funds and real money investors
  • Working with the media relations team to promote the UBS FX Strategy product

Ready to be part of #teamUBS and make an impact? Your team You will be part of the UBS Investment Bank's G10 FX Strategy team, which is housed within Global Economics and Strategy. The team focuses on providing FX Strategy content to multiple internal and external clients, including UBS's market-leading FX business. The team is responsible for FX forecasting, generating trade ideas and maintaining extensive contact with clients, with a focus on hedge funds and institutional investors. The team also works with the wider macro strategy and economics group to produce cross-asset product. Your expertise

  • Strong academic credentials with a focus on economics or finance, with postgraduate qualifications preferred
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a macro environment (rates and FX) with strong DM focus, ideally in a client-facing role
  • Competence in data analysis using mainstream statistical techniques
  • Comprehensive knowledge of finance software: Bloomberg, Haver, Macrobond
  • A willingness to learn about methods of trade expression in FX markets, for example through option markets
  • Strong English writing skills that allow for clear expression of views without wholesale editing
