GI Physiologist

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the GI Physiology Department at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for 12 months from October 2024 to cover the current postholder's maternity leave.

As a clinical physiologist/healthcare scientist you will be required to perform highly complex, specialised diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

You will be working within a small team to deliver upper GI investigations including high resolution manometry, 24-hour pH studies, and hydrogen & methane breath testing. You will undertake the interpretation of results, provision of reports and advice to patients.

You will partake in meetings with other healthcare professionals working collaboratively and co-operatively on a day-to-day basis with others to ensure that the service needs are met.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work with the Lead GI Physiology Consultant to provide a safe and high standard of care for patients.

The post holder will be responsible for service delivery and adherence to national, international and local best practice. The post holder will be responsible for identifying and introducing service developments and implementing changes to pathways based on evidence based research and best practice guidelines.
