Full Job Description

Diageo's Procurement structure is a mixture of above-market resources passionate about developing world class category strategies and in-market Procurement resources focused on excellence in execution of category strategies and supplier performance management. In addition, this person will work to complement existing Brand Change activity, connecting with Brand Change Managers, Brand Protection and Global brand teams to deliver a step-change in our packaging formats.

  • To be accountable for driving and active participation in a global community of procurement professionals in one or more spend categories, including joining regular meetings, driving alignment around strategy, supporting development of own and others' capabilities & expertise and sharing of standard methodologies.
  • To act as the focal point for delivering, ensuring effective partner management, coordination of multiple workstreams and engagement widely across Global Supply & Procurement and Commercial functions.
  • Be responsible for partnering with a diverse set of key partner relationships across Sustainability, Finance, Planning, Innovation, Technical, Engineering, GBTs and both Regional & Global Procurement. In addition, this role works with a broad range of external suppliers and industry experts.
  • Support the Global Procurement Category team in the delivery of strategic goals of capacity expansion and long-term security of supply.
  • Play a leading role in co-developing a solution which fully meets the Packaging strategy as it relates to Diageo's 2030 Spirit of Progress ambition.
  • Be responsible for outstanding governance, ensuring all compliance processes are followed, supervised and reported on.

    For this role we are looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:
  • Graduate or equivalent qualification and member of professional body, e.g., CIPS.
  • Significant experience in Procurement, Finance, FMCG Commercial or other relevant role, with subject-matter expertise in supply markets and spend categories relevant to the role.
  • Demonstrated performance in projects and in cross-market teams, experience developing and implementing category and procurement strategies, managing and negotiating with suppliers.
  • Strong analytical and financial awareness including a strong understanding of AOP requirements and financial goals & value drivers relevant to the categories in scope.
  • Track record of generating insights to influence decision-making; good commercial foresight.
  • Good systems knowledge (esp. SAP, M/S Office, E-collaborate or similar systems & tools).
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills; strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of consistent performance and delivery.
