Full Job Description

You will be part of a large and diverse team in which you will be supporting the delivery of engineering solutions for the water environment. This role can be based in Reading. The team works on a large variety of projects, such as river restoration, natural flood management, river and waterways structures, surface water drainage, flood alleviation schemes, wetland design, flood risk management and river and coastal engineering. If you enjoy problem solving and have a passion for climate change and sustainability, then this is the role for you! As a Graduate River and Coastal Engineer, you will be supporting senior staff on:

  • Detailed design
  • Report writing
  • Optioneering
  • Programme & project management

    You'll have a keen interest in flood risk, hydrology, hydraulics and water management, which is demonstrated through your studies and your extra-curricular activities.
  • You will have achieved or be on target to a Honours Degree in Civil Engineering, with a bias in river flood and/or coastal engineering.
  • You will have relevant work experience gained through summer placements and internships.
  • Finally, you must be eligible to live and work in the UK at the time you start employment., Applicants must have an unconditional right to live and work in the UK for an indefinite period without limitation.
