Full Job Description

As a senior, you are respected for your deep technical expertise and ability to oversee programs and processes. You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, and judgment, along with a risk mind-set. Ultimately, you take ownership for key outcomes.

  • Underwrite within agreed Personal Insurances decision making standards, limitations, and underwriting authority on allocated accounts.
  • Assess the desirability of new risks and determine our approach to renewals thorough the review of business proposals in conjunction with claims history, general company information, contact with broker and other impacted lines of business with AIG.
  • Operate as the focal point for specified delegated authorities and manage contractual review as required.
  • Use designated Underwriting systems and processes to manage underwriting and information-tracking, inputting required data consistently and accurately.
  • Provide an excellent customer centric service to brokers through consistent, timely, and proactive approach.
  • Exhibit sales orientated behaviours, defined by management as: motivated, tenacious, focused, technically skilled, proactive, and accountable.
  • Generate new business by building and expanding relationships across the market.

    Proven track record of writing and managing large premium Group PA & Travel accounts
  • A deep understanding of Group A&H technical underwriting topics and the interaction between these and other lines of business plus, actuarial pricing, reserving and claims handling.
  • Strong commercial skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities, organise work and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral are required plus the ability to create presentations or briefing notes and communicate and present to Senior management and Exec level audiences.
