Full Job Description

NHSE is investing in a pioneering Federated Data Platform (FDP) to leverage data for enhancing patient care, optimizing resource allocation, and enabling real-time decision-making. The Head of Implementation & Business Change is crucial in delivering and growing this high-profile programme. This role drives transformation, implementation, and adaptability in the evolving FDP landscape, leading strategic initiatives that align with NHS priorities and respond to changing needs. The post holder ensures NHS organisational involvement in product development, builds capabilities within NHSE engineering, and oversees the rollout of non-core FDP products, ensuring alignment with best practices, strategic priorities, and financial sustainability.

  • Collaborate with NHS leadership to shape the FDP programme's vision by connecting NHS organisations pain points with solutions.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and management of transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with system and trust goals.
  • Oversee FDP product pilots to ensure they meet functionality requirements and can scale nationally.
  • Develop and deliver the change strategy for the FDP Demand and Delivery team, driving successful organizational change across all impacted stakeholder groups.
  • Oversee the growth of NHSE's FDP engineering function and expand the apprenticeship programme for sustainability.
  • Drive matrix working across engineering, product, and Solution Exchange teams to integrate third-party suppliers.
  • Build strategic relationships with 3rd party organisations, regional leads, and other stakeholders to align with NHSE's goals and lead introspective projects with D&D leads to review progress against team objectives.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
