Full Job Description

Reporting to the Service Director the Head of Service Design & Transition will be accountable for leading the design, development, and implementation of IT services that align with business objectives. This role focuses on ensuring that new and changed services are effectively transitioned into the live environment, promoting a seamless and efficient service delivery framework. This is a new capability within the Technology function so your primary responsibility will be to design and build a Service Design & Transition framework and integrate it into the existing Delivery framework. Working alongside the Head of Service Management and Head of Operations, you will ensure that Services are delivered in accordance with ITIL Best Practice and with minimum disruption. About the role This role leads the design and transition of services, aligning them with business goals for usability, performance, and sustainability. You'll oversee service design strategy, manage transitions to minimize disruption, and engage with stakeholders to ensure service needs are met. Key responsibilities include promoting continuous improvement, maintaining documentation, and enforcing design standards. You'll also develop a team of professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence in service design and transition.

You are an experienced leader with a proven track record of building an ITIL framework from the ground up, growing and developing your team along the way. With significant expertise in ITIL environments, you bring strong leadership and interpersonal skills that inspire and motivate those around you. Your excellent communication abilities enable you to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, while your strategic thinking and analytical skills drive data-informed decisions. You are deeply committed to understanding customer needs and delivering high-quality services. Proficient in project management methodologies and tools, you have experience managing complex projects with a focus on efficiency and results.
