Full Job Description

The post holder will lead on the delivery of analytics and business intelligence services which support the planning and delivery of patient care. During a busy period of change and BI service transformation as the trust moves to a new electronic patient record system, the post holder will provide subject matter expertise to interpret organisational business intelligence requirements into services and products, and lead on sourcing and implementing data and reporting solutions. Working as part of a great team with a committed purpose to deliver timely and accurate information and insights, directly contributing to the improvement in patient care. The Information Team sits within the Trust Finance Directorate,

  • Co-ordinate project and routine activities, to ensure work is appropriately prioritised and deadlines are met
  • Work with customers and stakeholders to understand reporting needs and define their reporting requirements
  • Review changes in national guidance and reporting mandates to assess and address the impact on reporting services
  • Design, develop, test and make available information solutions for the automatic creation and presentations of reports and dashboards
  • Extract and manipulate complex and extremely varied data from different SQL databases for reporting and analysis
  • Provide subject matter expertise and undertake BI activities relating to those healthcare disciplines within your area of information service provision
  • Use in depth knowledge and analytical expertise of Healthcare data to identify issues, good practice, trends, exceptions, and solve problem
  • Provide line management to the team, overseeing work undertaken
  • Provide professional development and training to the wider information team in support of their technical and knowledge development
  • Routinely review team outputs to ensure alignment to the operational and strategic objectives and priorities of the organisation, and the teams/functions which the outputs support

It will benefit patients and carers from across our geographic footprint as well as our staff from across our acute, community and social care settings.,
  • Required to provide and receive complex data sets sharing complex information in simple to understand format
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with people on complex matters, issues and ideas and/or in complex situations
  • Undertake deep dive analysis and interpretation of data in order to interpret and explain performance and risks
  • Take ownership of data quality and integrity issues to ensure all information that is shared is accurate and reliable
  • Respond to changing business priorities that require changes to team responsibilities at short notice, reprioritising and delivering to new or adjusted time scales
  • Plan and manage reporting commitments and projects to ensure that activities are resourced and deadlines are met
  • Prioritise information requests from services, and deliver information and informatics support within agreed and negotiated timescales
  • Provide project management to plan and co-ordinate responsibilities for the successful delivery of Information projects and initiatives
